ESOL
All WPS elementary schools are able to serve students who qualify for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) support and do not require special assignment.
If you have questions about these services, please check with our office or you can speak with the team at Multilingual Education Services to work through the options that will be best for your student's future.
AVID
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a program used across schools to help all students succeed by focusing on fairness and putting students at the center of their learning. The main goal is to close the opportunity gap and prepare students for college, careers, and life.
In AVID Elementary, students are taught important academic skills and higher-level thinking from a young age, which helps them succeed as they move through school.
Key Benefits:
- Encourages a growth mindset, helping kids believe that going to college is possible and something they can work towards.
- Provides academic, social, and emotional support to help students succeed.
- Teaches age-appropriate skills that will prepare them for middle school, high school, and college.
In short, AVID helps your child develop the habits and confidence they need for long-term academic success.
